Bowe Bergdahl held prisoner by the Haqqani network

It was another day in nearly five years of captivity for U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, and he didn’t know what the 18 Taliban fighters had in store for him Saturday.

There, in the rugged mountains of eastern Afghanistan near the Pakistan border, the heavily armed fighters turned Bergdahl over to U.S. military commandos.

The soldier’s plight had come to an end.

Within minutes he was airborne. The helicopter’s rotors whooped so loudly that Bergdahl couldn’t communicate clearly with the men on board.

So he grabbed a paper plate and wrote three characters: “SF?”

The men understood: Special Forces?

How can we place judgement on actions most Americans have only news experience, too a hero who risk life? A hero define, I see this everyday driving down the freeway, walking the streets of my hometown, my line of work, my son…The men and women of every decent too give us what so many take for granted, I would give my life for them. We never know the pain, the emotions, the loneliness, the heartache our military feel. I take a stand and support our military!

Haleleujah! is right! Our prayers have been answered.

I do hope that Bowe’s father shaves his beard before he sees Bowe – I think he’s probably seen enough beards to last a lifetime – thinking about possible PTSD and flashbacks.

God bless the Bergdahl family for their bravery.

I am so thankful and happy your son is finally returning to you. My son was in Iraq twice and I cry every time I think about the pain we suffered – he was gone 1 year each deployment. Over the years I have thought of Bowe and your family. You were in my prayers and will remain in my prayers as Bowe recovers from his experiences.

Bowe, I am so happy you are back; as a vet’s mom I often worried about you. I hope you will fill you mind with the many positive comments and black out the negative as you heal. I know there are many good things you will do with the rest of your life. You have endured a unique experience no one else has endured and I believe you can make something great out all of this.
    Stay strong!
    Think positive!
    You are in our prayers.
